The Department of Agrarian Reform Sibugay launched the Agrarian Reform Community Project 2 last Nov. 12, 2009 at Sibugay Plaza Hotel, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. A project which will ultimately bring about improvement of lives, progress and development in the province.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Rogelio E. Balladares, Sr. said that the project will directly benefit thousands of ARBs in 7 municipalities in the province and 1 city namely: Tungawan, Ipil, Titay, Naga, kabasalan, Siay, Payao and Zamboanga City.The ARCs covered under this project are as follows: Tungawan Cluster ARC, SWIZS ARC, Tambanan ARC, Sulo ARC, Goodyear ARC, Lower Sibuguey ARC, Titay Valley ARC, Culasian-Supit ARC, Don Alfonso ARC and Buenavista ARC of Zamboanag City.
The project is funded under Asian Development Bank which aims to uplift the lives of the farmer beneficiaries.
ARCP2 requires counterpart from the Local Government Unit concerned. The cost sharing in terms of rural infra support Will be 70% from LGU and 30% from the ARCP 2 for the 4th class municipalities, 60%-40% for the 3rd and 2nd class municipalities and 100%-0 for 1st class municipality, respectively.
The most significant part of the launching activity was the signing of plegde of commitment by the Mayors and other LGU representatives.
Director Gil Tuparan of DAR CDD Specialist said that the project will continue to be implemented even during campaign period because it is a foriegn assited project.
