Land Tenure Improvement (LTI)
..............................................................................................................
This is one of the major services which the department caters and it has two basic schemes, namely; a) Land Acquisition and Distribution; and b) Leasehold.
Land Acquisition and Distribution (LAD)
This involves the redistribution of all private agricultural lands of tillers to qualified farmers and farmworkers subject to prescribed retention limit and just compensation to landowners. it consists of several activities:
- Agrarian Reform Benificiaries (ARBs) Identification
- Land Survey
- Generation and Registration of land Titles in the name of Certification of Land Ownership Award (CLOA)
- Preparation/Documentation of Claim Folders for Landowners compensation for acquired private agricultural lands
- Installation of ARBs
This is done through the execution of leasehold agreement or contracts between the landowners and tenant-tillers. Leasehold is applied to lands within the retention limit of the landowner and other lands covered by Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) but not yet acquired or for private agricultural lands that are tenanted.
