DAR- Zamboanga Sibugay is the newest among the three provincial offices under the aegis of DAR-Region IX. Its existence has been forged some eight years ago. Being new in the social justice realm, every undertaking is both a responsibility and a challenge. Alleviating the plight of the rural folks of Sibugay is a thrust which must be carried out into effect through land acquisition and distribution, provision of support services and administering agrarian justice.
Through the years, DAR- Zamboanga Sibugay is just sure of one thing. The challenges in implementing the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) are but daily battles to be won. Fortunately, the limitation as to manpower resources has been complemented by forging better relations with other stakeholders.
With CARP's extension for another five years, agrarian concerns have been made more complex. Gears have been changed along the way to optimize opportunities and maximize resources. The approach to make agrarian intervention wider is a must. Spilling the benefits over even to non-ARBs should be a commitment. Hence, efforts of the various stakeholders need be unified, if only to attain such a goal of improving the recipients' qualities of life. Let us then be steadfast in making our respective stakes significant, in the interest of the ARBs we are bound to serve.
