The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office in Zamboanga Sibugay conducted a turn-over ceremony for a potable water supply project in Barangay Malubal, Rt Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay last May 26, 2009.
The potable water supply project was implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform-Solar Power Technology Support (DAR-SPOTS) in partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Local Government Units (LGUs).
According to the Regional Director of DAR Region IX, Julita A. Ragandang, SPOTS project is an integrated agricultural development support designed to complement existing government assistance to marginalized farmer beneficiaries in Mindanao. She further stressed that the project aims to provide better access to health care facilities, education, governance and safety. It will also help augment the income of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the agrarian reform communities (ARCs).
The said project was composed of fifteen (15) unit tapstands which were classified as level II under the ARC level of development assessment benefited more than ninety (90) households. The project cost amounted to PhP4,046,981.64 was funded by the Government of Spain.

must be responsible in the maintenance and the sustainability of the project. Likewise, Engr. Venancio Ferrer of the Provincial Government Unit of Zamboanga Sibugay pledged to support and improve the project by rehabilitating the old reservoir to provide additional source of water to classify the water supply system of the community to level III.
The recipient-residents vowed to preserve and sustain the project for their own benefit. They are now enjoying supply of potable water at a minimal rate.
