            5. LEONILA "Inday" F.TECSON

The former first lady of Zamboanga del Sur says" that life is often described as a journey filled with challenges, facing life's challenges is never easy, we struggle in many ways. But with God's guidance and arms around us, we can face whatever is ahead of us.  I have always been working to help women improve their quality of life thru livelihood projects. I also helped in the development of children whose hands are the the future of our country". Nang Inday as friends call her, is the former National President of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) of the country and with her sterling presidency, UNICEF granted the RIC of the Philippines a 6.5 million peso grant for income-generating projects and malnuitrition prevention projects for the entire county. She is a recipient of different citations and awards both in the national and international recognitions. She is known as the Pagadianons Ambassador of Goodwill here in abroad. 

            {sidebar id=5}6. ARCHIMEDES "Archie" DAIROCAS

As a Professional Singer, Composer, Arranger, Archie participated in the 3rd Philippine US Exposition at the Raritian Convention Center in Edison, New Jersey, USA, as an awardee. composer, songwriter, and producer. He is also a graduate of the Berkeley College of Music in Boston, Massachusettes, USA and a two-time awardee of the BillBoard Magazine. He became the first filipino member of the Grammy, a songwriters guild in America and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.  As a songwriter he popularized OPM Hits like "Kasayaw", "Pakita Mo", "Lovely", and "Sadya Bang Ganyan".  Archie had already performed with top caliber filipino artists, like Ara Mina, Dennis Trilo to name a few, and successfully joined the ever crowd drawers "Kayumanggi Band".

            7. MS. CARMEN A. SANTILLAN

  carmen-santillan.jpgA business woman, socio-civic leader, Mameng as friends call her, is active in community services. A civic minded person, she has been tapped to participate in international gatherings. As a Rotarian, she made accomplishments in her own way and became a very active officer of the club in international conferences such as Rotary Club conventions and conferences in Edinburgh, Scotland, Manchester, England, Calgary, Canada, Sydney, Australia, and Cyprus, Greece. Mamemg is also a former member of the Pagadian City Tourism Council, Pagadian Arts Club and other social institutions to help and support the community especially on women and children.

            8. MS. YAEL PINEDA

As a total Artist in the field of dance and theater arts, Yael has brought distinguished recognition. Her talents and prowess is a worthy example to Pagadianons, especially the local artists, younger generatons, and cultural workers.

            9. PAGADIAN CITY EXPLORERS BASKETBALL TEAM 

pagexplorers.jpgThe Offical Basketball team of Pagadian City, the Pagadian City Explorers is a member of the National Basketball Conference (NBC) in which the team's objective is to bring the talents and skill of Pagadianons in the field of sports, especially basketball. The Team has joined the NBC Conference in its 1st and 2nd seasons where the Pagadian City Explorers showed their might and landed in the best three places. In the NBC 2006 Conference, it was catapulted to the championship series against the Bagong Ozamisnons Team of Ozamis City. As of this writing, Pagadian City Explprers is again in the on top of the NBC trek.

 

The nine were given their special awards during the City Employees Night during the 38th Araw ng Pagadian Celebration.  In his message, Mayor Sammy Co gave his utmost felicitations to the awardees and challenged other Pagadianons to be next year's awardees.
