The APYC, a non profit organization recognized by the United Nations, is an organization of youths from all walks of life who are concerned of various issues that affect humanity in today’s world.

APYC Instrumental for Youths to Converge

To address youth issues and concerns, APYC has been instrumental where youth all over the Asia Pacific converge for a convention.  Countries like Cambodia, India and Japan had sponsored previous APYC meetings. So far, this is the third time that Philippines play host this international conference.  The first was in Manila, second  in Davao and now, it is Pagadian.youth1.jpg

Star Parulan of APYC national and daughter of City Councilor Estrella Arao has formed  a local APYC team here to assist her team for the success of the said conference.  Series of meetings held by members of the local team, various plans and concerns are being anticipated on whatever issue that may arise  in the duration of the 9-day event.

Everything is considered since the arrival of delegates their billeting, tourist/scenic spots which will be visited, the security of delegates, medical support, transportation and logistical supports and even media relations.

Parulan said so far there are 100 international and local delegates who signified their intentions to come and attend the gathering here.

APYC Secretariat Jenny Padua also disclosed that foreign delegates will be arriving in Manila on the 18th or 19th, they will be passing via Cagayan de Oro City on the 20th.

Pagadian City Ready for the Event

As Pco_barong_unsapa.jpgagadian City takes pride in hosting this historical gathering, Mayor Samuel S. Co, together with the local officials  assured the national team that Pagadian City is ready for this grandiose event.

  Mayor Co in a press conference here held few months ago together with the members of the APYC’s international team, that this is a very rare opportunity and will be a turning point for  Pagadian City to be recognized as Little Hong Kong of the south, and the new Regional Center of Zamboanga Paninsula be mapped in the entire Asia Pacific.

auring-cerilles-formal.jpg Governor Auring Enerio-Cerilles, is also very happy for Pagadian City in its efforts to put Pagadian City in the map not only in the country but also across the Asia Pacific. {sidebar id=9}

Cerilles stressed that, because of a better management of local government here, the APYC despite far from Metro-Manila can now say that we are competitive to other metropolitans.
