Parade Traversed Pagadian City
A civic-military parade traversed the city hall on to Consolacion St. down to Pajares Avenue and back to the City Gymnasium. Before the program started, a drum and bugle competition participated by different schools in the city was held complete with twirlers, majorettes and band members. (Watch Video Below)

Local officials led by Re-elected Mayor Sammy together with Mrs. Ilang-ilang Co, Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, City employees, DepEd Teachers and students, the men in unifrom (both PNP and Tabak Troopers), guests and other Pagadianons, with colored umbrellas gathered in the city hall to raise the banners of oneness.
Participants of the parade proceeded to the City Gym for the anniversary program, where visitors and guest converged.Congressman-elect for the 1st district of the province, Engr. Victor Yu delivered his message thanking the Pagadianons for their support to his candidacy and promised that part of his CDF will be poured in to the infrastructure projects for the betterment of Pagadian City.
Winners of the Parade
The Pagadian City Comprehensive National High School emerged as the winner with a price of P4000 pesos from the city government. Second place went to the WMSU contingent who received P3000, third place went to the Zamboanga del Sur National High School-Main Campus with P2000, fourth was the Holy Child Academy with P1000 as cash prizes.
Historical Bits of Pagadian City
Pagadian City was made into a charter city pursuant to R.A. 5478 in March 27, 1969 and when the late President Ferdinand Marcos visited the new city on April 17, 1969, he signed the City Charter of Pagadian at 3:45 PM using the sign pen of then Governor Beinvenido Ebarle, Sr. of Zamboanga del Sur.
