The inauguration of Pagadian DXPR

As part of the network’s upgrading program for better service to the people, the Radio Mindanao Network-DXPR has found a more spacious and conducive place for their day to day broadcast activities.

Station Manager Al Gesta in a press statement officially announced that their broadcast center has been transferred to Mercedes Street, San Jose District, Pagadian City.

The new location is still very accessible to the public and just a ride away from the city’s commercial center, he added.

Gesta said that the million peso worth of office building and transmitter site have been completed and is now ready to accommodate their valued clients and listeners who continue to patronize DXPR for almost three decades now.

DXPR was first established in 1980 and was the second radio station to broadcast in the city of Pagadian and Zamboanga del Sur as its primary area. Its establishment was the brainchild of the Canoy Couple (DON HENRY and MARIA CLARA CANOT) to connect distant boundaries in the Philippine Archipelago through broadcasting service. Don Canoy was also inspired that time by his vision to be of service to the people in terms of news, information and entertainment.

The newly constructed building under CTG Construction is the fulfillment of the dreams envisioned by the Father of RMN Don Henry Canoy to upgrade the RMN Stations nationwide. RMN is the largest radio network in the Philippines and has been in the service to the Filipino people in the countryside for 50 long years.

Mr. Rey Bayoging, the network’s area manager also said in the same press statement that March 5 is the maiden broadcast of a new, improved and more modern RMN-DXPR banging in the airwaves.

“A lot of changes and innovations we have to undertake to soothe the listening pleasures of the Pagadianons”, Bayoging pointed out.

He also said that DXPR has upgraded its broadcast facilities especially the technical aspect. DXPR is now fully computerized using state of the art softwares for fast and efficient service to the people.

The men and women behind the RMN are more trained and experienced journalists tapping top anchors and personalities who are Mass Communication graduates and KBP license holders. Some of their personalities are also law graduates to justify our cause as the leading station in Pagadian City having the authority to inform and educate the listeners.

The production department lead by Program Director Amid Bangues expressed appreciation to the RMN Executives, to the Founders Don Henry and Maria Clara Canoy, to the President Eric Canoy and the rest of the executives Butch and Charley Canoy.

During the inauguration, a simultaneous medical, dental and blood-letting activity was conducted early morning until in the afternoon as part of public service together with the medical team of the Red Cross and Philippine Army ‘Tabak’ Division Medical Team where at least 26 persons benefitted.

Atty. Vicente “Manager” Madarang Cerilles represented the Governor, Auring Cerilles. Mayor Sammy Co and almost all members of the City Council, former anchor man Raffy Amor now City Administrator, members of Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City Press Club, and some business community.(Photos by Jong Cadion, Unsapa.com)
