Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur – Ruffa, not her real name, fourteen years old and a second year high school student was raped three times at Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur on October 26, 2007 at 8:00pm.

The Mahayag Police led by P03 Yolando Espargosa Catacutan responded immediately and conducted a hot pursuit operation against the suspect identified as Edgar Antiga Gongora, 27 years old, single and a resident of Purok-3, San Vicente, Mahayag after the victim's mother requested police assistance.

Edgar was arrested in Pagadian City after COP of Pagadian City Police Station PSI Oscar Tan Buenaobra also responded to the request for the arrest of the suspect.

Inquest case was filed at the Provincial Prosecutors office at Pagadian City Justice Hall for the violation of R.A. 6353 and R.A. 7610.

The suspect was turned-over to Mahayag Police Operatives for proper disposition and is detained at the Mahayag Police Detention cell.
