Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur – A 70-years old man was stabbed to death by the unidentified person at Purok-3 Barangay San Vicente, Mahayag on November 21, 2007 11:30 am. The victim was identified as Regino Anding Fernandez 70-years old, farmer and a resident of the said place. He sustained 5 stab wounds at the back, chest, left chest, right rib, his neck sustained cuts and the left ear was also cut that caused his untimely death.
Police initial investigation said that the victim was seen before the incident drinking wine and while already drunk he left and walk heading to his house a kilometer from the store where he was drinking. It is believed that along the way he was waylaid by his assailant.
The motive is still to be determined by the police and the case is still under follow-up and investigation.
