Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur – An 81 years old woman was rushed immediately to the nearest medical clinic after she was accidentally hit by a single motorcycle but was pronounced dead by the attending physician a few minutes later at about 10:30 in the morning of August 10, 2007 along the provincial road of Purok Gemelina, Lower Dimaya, Dinas.

Police identified the victim as Geralda Ricarborda y Cambongga, widow, and a resident of the same place, who was hit by a single motorcycle Crypton 110, color blue driven by a Rolando Cañete y Pongasi, 32 years old, married and a resident of  Kagawasan, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur.

The suspect, driving his vehicle was negotiating from the upgrade direction loaded with Lanzones. Upon reaching the said place he lost control of his motorcycle hitting the victim who was crossing the road to buy at nearby store, police reports said.

The victim sustained fatal injuries at different parts of her body, while the driver voluntarily surrendered to the police but was also taken to Chavez Medical Clinic for treatment after also sustaining injuries. The suspect was later brought back to the Police Office for further investigation while his driven vehicle was impounded by the police authorities.
