This wreath still needs improving, says Gov. Auring as PSWDO Chit San Diego (right) and PHRMO Daisy Abrenica listen. “Charity begins at home,” the phrase that lady governor Auring E. Cerilles uttered as she pledged to give some P200-T for the Provincial Capitol Women Employees’ association to start its small business.
Cerilles was impressed by the finished products of 90 women employees displayed during the closing program of their Livelihood Skills and Development Training several weeks ago. “They are okay but I suggest you make much better than this at least at par with the ones bought at flower shops,” she referred to the wreath made by the flower arrangement class. “I’ve been doing livelihood programs outside and now I am happy that it is now in our backyard. I may leave this as my legacy to you being your governor,” Cerilles elaborated as she is now serving her third and last term. The P200-T would be an additional fund for this association to forego its livelihood project since according to Conchita San Diego, provincial DSWD officer, her office has a trust fund to finance this project. Curtain making and dressmaking trainees pose amidst their fruit of labor. Inspired by the concern of the governor to them, Renefe Tremedal, president of the women organization thanked the lady governor as she motivated her members to cooperate and work more for their economic upliftment.
“You have to sustain this project and prove that you can do it”, Cerilles challenged as she want that even she is no longer in the position, she would still find the organization intact whose capital will be double to tripled.Side by side with the beautifully-arranged flowers were pretty and dainty curtains, bags and slippers while Ms. Connie Abang of the Provincial Human Resource Office looked glamorous of her new look as model of her fellow hair science and cosmetology trainee. While others produced yummy cakes and pastries; some produced delicious longganiza and learned on making fish polvoron, hot and spicy deles. The livelihood skills training was spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office as a highlight of the Women’s Month celebration under the Gender and Development program of the provincial government. Hair science trainee with model Ms. Connie Abang. San Diego, for her part, thanked Governor for her commitment to help her employees. She disclosed that they prolonged the training to over a month so as to insure its quality so that participants could more or less master their chosen skills and make money out of it.The training started March 26 to May 7 excluding Saturdays and Sundays with facilitators and trainers, namely: Presca Paglinawan, Nancy Arao, Lorena Nebria, Margie Mong, Arlene Zacal, Emerita Taup and Roen Rodriguez.
