Governor Auring E. Cerilles has inspired the newly inducted Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the 54 brangays in the city who took oath of office before her last November 16 at the City gymnasium here.

“The election was over! Let us be one,” the lady Governor implored to the 808 barangay and SK officials in her message being also heard by 1st District Congressman Victor Yu, City Mayor Sammy Co, Vice Mayor Romeo Pulmones and city councilors together with DILG Assistant Regional Director Walter Señoron and City Interior and Local Government Director James Yañez, who initiated the mass oath taking ceremony.

Cerilles emphasized to them that the SK and Barangay officials must have the integrity to lead their people -that in discharging their duties and responsibilities, dialogs and consultations with the people are very important to attain development in the barangays.

 

“There is a need that your programs and project should fit to the requirement of the city and for the city to attune to the programs and projects that the province are pursuing,” Cerilles elaborated.

The lady Governor said: “Election was over! Let us be one for the good of the barangays for the progress of the barangays is also the progress of your city that will ultimately redound to our province.”

Cerilles said that they are working hard for the transfer of all regional offices to this city. This time, she stressed, “with the strong backing from Congressmen Tony Cerilles and Victor Yu.”  In fact, she further said that Malacañang has created a technical working for this purpose and President Arroyo has already appropriated funds for it in the 2008 budget.

To attain their goals, Cerilles appealed to the barangay officials to support their campaign for a progressive province because of the progressive barangays and cities.

Right after her message, the Governor proceeded to Dumalinao town to again administer the mass oath taking of the SK and Barangy officials which eventually followed by other municipalities in the province.
