Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur – A couple Emmanuel Palma Sr. and Liza Lumansoc Palma engaged in Rice and Corn business was held-up by two unidentified person armed with a caliber .45 pistol at the National Highway of Barangay Libertad, Aurora on September 21, 2007 at 5:30 early morning. Police initial investigation disclosed that while the victim couple was routinely on their way riding a single motorcycle Yamaha DT was set upon by two men.
150T Cash, Post dated Checks Stolen The incident happened at the cemented bridge leading to their Rice and Corn Mill compound when the two suspects also riding in a single motorcycle in tandem blocked their way and drew and pointed a pistol at them and declared a hold-up. The suspects took the shoulder bag of Liza and fled immediately towards the town of Ramon Magsaysay. The bag contained P150-thousand pesos cash, unlimited amount of various postdated checks and other important documents and a Nokia cellular phone. Getaway Vehicle Recovered
The Aurora Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of the Chief of Police Superintendent Robert Bahian, immediately conducted a hot pursuit led by P03 Nestor C. Cabatingan. They recovered the get-away vehicle of the suspects abandoned at the public cemetery of Barangay Cabilinan, Aurora. The couple positively identified the motorcycle as the getaway vehicle of the suspects when presented to them by the police and also identified the two suspects when pictures of some police characters were presented to them. Suspects Identified {sidebar id=5}Police record shows the identification of the suspects as Rolando Dono, a resident of Sitio Sta. Ana, Barangay Campo Uno, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, previously charged for carnapping and Danny Bogais Marignita a resident of Barangay Anonang, also of Aurora and previously charged with Robbery with Force upon things. The vehicle recovered by the police operatives were described as follows: Honda motorcycle XRM, without plate number, repainted color from red to black, with engine no. XRM ME 8058436, and chassis no. 11 04558436. Related incident In Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur, before the robbery incident happened in Aurora above, a carnapping incident was reported to the Municipal Police Station on September 19 at 8:30 in the evening by a certain Rowell Arante Caangay, 19 years old, single, Habal-habal driver and a resident of Purok-5 Barangay Switch, Ramon Magsaysay. According to police reports, two unidentified male persons wearing jacket and ball cap hired the victim who was at the parking area waiting for passengers. The victim was reportedly hired to transport the two to Campo-5 of the same municipality. Motorcycle Used in the Robbery Above Upon reaching the national highway near the quarry area of the same barangay, one of his passengers pointed his handgun at his back and advised him to disembark and forcible took his driven motorcycle XRM Honda with plate no. JM 4994 and fled towards an unknown direction, Rowell told to the police. The said vehicle owned by Rodrigo Caangay has the same description of the vehicle abandoned and recovered by the police operatives in Aurora above.
