Pagadian City Silliman Alumni officers
Pagadian City –For several years the Silliman Alumni Association, Incorporated (SAAI), Pagadian City Chapter, have kept its silence. Now the SAAI inducted its newly elected officials headed by Dr. Aurito C. Ampong as President.

The induction and fellowship night was held at the New Roxan Hotel here on February 2, 2008 at 6:00 o’clock in the evening with the National President of SAAI, Atty. Dorothy S. Cajayon, as their guest speaker.

“I am very much happy that the Pagadian City Chapter was revitalized, we hope you can move on and we in the national chapter, the Silliman Board of Trustees very much recognize the presence of the Alumni Association. We also encourage you to become lifetime members. We have discounts for couples who are both from Silliman, instead of paying P1,000 each you only have to pay P1,500.

In your chapter, we propose that you give recognition to the Outstanding Sillimanian thru the nomination from the members. I hope this coming October 2008 you can submit nominees for Outstanding Sillimanian for the year 2009,” SAAI National President Atty. Cajayon told the Sillimanian during her speech.

Please memorize the Silliman Song because it’s one way of remembering our school days in Silliman, the National President also added.

“We are very happy to inform that the Silliman Community and its Alumni is aiming to put-up the East Portal Building and we hope build it out of donations from good hearted alumni. As of now we have built the West Portal Building from the help of the alumni and we really hope that those who pledged will come-up with their promised money. Wherever we roam the world far or near we still remember where we came from, remembering our school who have built us to what we are now and of course, we love Silliman and we’ll never forget to give something in return. As you know the students of Silliman are subsidized, the tuition is not really that high compared to other schools, in effect we’re hoping for outside help from the Alumni so that the students can always enjoy the kind of education we had.

For those who have not yet gone to the Halls of Silliman, specially the up-coming graduates the high schools to see for them selves what is Silliman and probable because knowing the Sillimanians here in Zamboanga del Sur particularly they will know that it’s a school worth going into, all they have to do is to browse in the internet what Silliman is?, the procedure in enrolment or any information they wanted to know. We hope that every Filipino will have the opportunity to study in Silliman and its really a privilege to be a graduate in the Silliman,” Atty. Dorothy Cajayon, SAAI National President told this writer in an exclusive interview after the Induction program.

The newly inducted officials are the following; President Dr. Aurito C. Ampong, Vice Pres. Dr. Andrelie E. Farreles, Secretary s. Mary Grace D. Farrales, Treasurer Laarni grace D. Tindoc, PIO Ms. Eppie May N. Palomo and the Board of Directors were Mr. Alberto B. Burlasa, Rev. Fort B. Narciso, Mr. Anastacio Descallar Jr., Engr. Antonio Benigay, Dr. Abraham Lumantas.
