Gun Battle in Dinas Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur - Thanks to God that no one was hurt in a gun firefight that lasted almost two hours between the warring families in Sitio Butitian, Barangay Sambulawan, Dinas which started at about 10:00 am to 12:00 noon last August 19, police reports reaching Police Provincial Office said.
Initial investigation conducted by Dinas Police Chief P/Insp. Heinz Legaspi and 907th PMG headed by P/Insp. Rome Etdew said that the firefight happened between the group of a Certain Totang Lao and Tuwag Lao and the Alimudin family.
After almost 2-hours of encounter the allegedly group of Totang and Tuwang Lao withdrew to the direction of Barangay Sungayan, Dinas, while the Alimudin Family remained at their houses where they were attacked.
No casualties and injuries were reported in the incident, except that the house of Jodainor Alimudin, Samora Alimudin, Racmah Alimudin, Osting Guillermo, Mad Lao and Tata Lao including her Delica Van park inside her compound was heavily damage due to the exchange of gun fire between the two groups. The amount of damage was not yet determine.
It was learned that last August 16 at about 5:45 pm, Tuwang Lao was reportedly fired upon by seven unidentified arm men while on his way home at Sitio Supang, Barangay Upper Dimaya, Dinas. Tuwang Lao was able to escape unharmed.
