Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur – Police authorities lead by Police Inspector Vinson C. Ucas successfully defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) after Barangay Officials reported to them a bomb at Purok-5, Barangay Tingabolong on September 17, 2007 at 10:00 am.

The Police report said that the IED recovered by the residents is called a “Sidik bomb” a high explosive anti-personnel bomb containing time clock, two batteries 1.5-volts and 9-volts, ammonium nitrite inside a 1-litter coke bottle, blasting cap and detonating cap.

The said bomb was temporarily deposited at Dimataling Municipal Police Station. The motive of the case was to be determined and under investigation.
