Pagadian City – A certain Gil Vaylosis 21 years old, single and a resident of Kawit, Pagadian City was shot with a caliber .45 pistol based from the seven empty shells recovered from the crime scene in Purok Bakhaw-B, Barangay Kawit. However the assailant was arrested when some residents and neighbors of the victim chased him together with the police on October 17, 2007 at 7:00 in the evening.
The suspect was identified later as Hassan Ambol Abubakar, 43 years old, married, businessman, with postal address of Barangay Binuhatan, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur and temporarily residing at Purok Upper Lumboy, Tuburan District, this City. Police confiscated from the suspect's possession one caliber 45 pistol with serial number 1G02819 and a magazine. He is now detained at the Pagadian City Police Station lock-up cell. Police initial investigation disclosed that Vaylosis was taking his clothes from the clothes lines when the suspect appeared and shot him several times. The suspect immediately fled towards the city proper on board a passenger motorized tricycle. Some residents in the area who witnessed the incident chased the suspect. PO1 Cesar Loriche, member of the Provincial Mobile Group (PMG) who was at that time on his single motorcycle responded immediately after he was informed of the incident. This resulted in the arrest of the suspect. The victim who was in critical condition was rushed by his neighbors to the hospital but died after few hours. Aside from the 7-empty shells, also recovered from the crime scene were three deformed slugs of caliber 45. Abubakar is now facing a crime of murder docketed in the Inquest case number 179 and I.S. number 10-530 filed in court. Last update : 20-10-2007 10:40
