"Nagpasalamat kaayo mi sa anak ni Mayor Co kay giapil mi niya sa iya birthday party (We thank the daughter of Mayor Co because she included us in her birthday party”, the less fortunate children in the city were chanting in unison, grateful by the rare and opportune occasion intended for them last Thursday afternoon at Plaza Luz here.

“My sister Tyra is a shy girl.  In fact, she doesn’t like going out shopping or outing, she loves to stay at home,” Lance Samuel, 12, eldest son of Mayor Co describes her younger sister whom he regarded as exact opposite of him.

At the mini-forest within Plaza Luz, over 60 children (majority of them were invited through the City Social Welfare and Development Office identified as street children) had fun exhibiting their talents in dancing and singing as the “birthday girl” has wrapped gifts for each one of them besides the toys, ice cream and packed foods.

Her dutiful mother, Ilang-Ilang and grandmother Dr. Dicky Fernandez were behind her assisting the distribution of gifts and foods.

First Lady Ilang Ilang admits that Tyra is an introvert.  She attributed this during her pregnancy of her when she hated to go out and preferred staying at home.

Nevertheless, the first couple afforded a birthday party for their second offspring at their rest house in Dumagoc. Their third child is 3-year old Samantha Yllanz.

Noticeably, only close associates and relatives were there joined by Governor Auring E. Cerilles (who happens to be a grandmother of the celebrant) and some media personalities.
