Sporting birthday caps; rice side by side the fried chickens, hotdogs, puto and fruit juice were at their midst for over 300 children to banquet on day 1 of the 55-long day birthday celebration of the father of Children’s Joy Foundation-Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Famed Jesus is Lord’s (JL) pastor Quiboloy actually marked his natal day today, April 25 but as early as March 1, through his Children’s Joy Foundation, he delighted the less-privileged children of Balangasan Central Elementary School as his birthday treat in Pagadian City.
Despite instruction from their teachers that they would eat simultaneously after each one has his own food served, as young as they were, others could not resist the inviting and sumptuous fried chicken and hotdogs on their plate, they ate ahead of the majority.They were Grades 1 to 3 pupils identified by their teachers to be undernourished, as what the Children’s Joy Foundation had advised us to pick as priority to join the feast, school principal Danilo Fernandez disclosed. Yet, there were pre-schoolers accompanied by their mothers who shared the food. The Children’s Joy Foundation has been feeding malnourished and undernourished children throughout the country. Aside from feeding, its mission, include, providing shelter and education especially to orphaned and abandoned children, according to Gil Mendoza, head of the volunteers for Pagadian City and Zamboanga del Sur area. It was attended by some public figures and officials. City Social Welfare and Development Officer Abdulgani Pagayao said that besides education and shelter, children have the right to proper food and nutrition. He appreciated the noble gesture extended by the Children’s Joy Foundation to less fortunate children.
Engr. Vince Quipot, a representative of City Mayor Sammy Co saluted the Children’s Joy Foundation for unselfishly looking after the welfare and good of the children. The same degree of elation was expressed by Vice Governor Roseller Ariosa through his Executive Assistant Fred Espinosa. Volunteers from Ozamis and Zamboanga City came over to Pagadian to support their feeding activity. According to Mendoza, Pastor Quiboloy varied his birthday treat in different places of Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon. For Mindanao, the celebration kicked of in Zamboanga where they had a medical and dental outreach. Nevertheless, the feeding activity won’t be successful without the support from donors. Mendoza thanked both the provincial and city governments officials and individuals who had shared their blessings to Children’s Joy Foundation that in one little way made joy to poor children.
