Pagadian City – The suspect of the killing of a driver last week is now the subject of a Warrant Of Arrest (WOA) after being positively identified by the police during the conduct of a series of investigations of the case. Facing a murder case under Criminal Case Number-140 is Rene Cantilla y Bustamante, 20 years old, single and a resident of Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.
It was recalled that the driver was shot to death allegedly by Cantilla using a caliber .45 pistol at about 1:00 dawn on August 16, 2007 at Corner Salera and Sagun Streets, Gatas District, Pagadian City. Police identified the victim as Victor Egarque, 31 years old, married, driver and a resident of Barangay Domagok, Pagadian City. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds at the different parts of his body. Cantilla fled the scene of the crime afterwards. The police recovered empty shells of caliber .45 in the crime scene.
