Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur - A public school teacher while driving his single motorcycle was flagged down by three unidentified young men and stabbed several times at about 7:00pm, August 19, 2007 at the National Highway of Purok 2, Barangay Manguiles, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Responding Police identified the victim as Tito Queji 43 years old, married, a public school teacher by occupation and a resident of Barangay San Pedro, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. He was rushed to Elumbaring Medical Clinic at Poblacion Mahayag and later transferred to Medina Hospital in Ozamiz City.

Police operatives recovered one Single Motor Kawasaki HDIII believed abandoned by the suspects who fled to evade arrest after they sensed the impending arrival of the responding authorities.

In the initial investigation the owner of the abandoned vehicle was known as Meme Toquero a resident of the said place. The recovered vehicle was temporarily impounded at the house of the Barangay Chairman of the said place while the case is under investigation.
