Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur – At least three persons were arrested by the police operatives while on a session sniffing illegal drugs in an abandoned house at Purok-4, Poblacion Guipos, on November 20, 2007 at 10:30am. The session was discovered when a concerned citizen texted a barangay kagawad who referred the information to COP Police Inspector David D. Ehedio, Jr.

Police operatives lead by P03 Demosthenes Andale responded immediately and conducted a surprise raid resulting in the arrest of the three suspects who were visibly seen inside the abandoned house sniffing shabu.

The three person were identified as 1) Jemar Buktot dela Torre 25 years old, married, a resident of Barangay Sisusa, Ozamiz City, 2) Rico Ecat Vergas, 30 years old, married, videoke technician and a resident of Barangay Baga, Tangub City and 3) Reynaldo Villanueva, 32 years old, single and a resident of Purok-4 Barangay Poblacion, Guipos.

Police recovered from the suspects some paraphernalia used in sniffing illegal drugs or shabu. The suspects are now detained while a case of violation of section 15 and 12 in Article 11 of R.A. 9165 was being filed in court.
