Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur – Two Barangay Officials were stabbed by a certain Onel Bantayan while they were inside the house of another barangay official, Kagawad Alang Ungan in Barangay Dagum at around 4:00pm on September 8, 2007. The motive of the incident was due to a shooting incident that happened few months ago, wherein the Barangay treasurer was allegedly involved, police investigation disclosed.
Police reports said that the two victims were identified as Barangay Chairman Florendo Capa Quintom, 51 years old, married, together with his Barangay treasurer Rudy Bantayan Tandong, 30 years old, married and both residents of the said place. The Barangay Chairman sustained stabbed wounds on his back while his treasurer was wounded on his abdomen and was rushed to the Lakewood Municipal Hospital and later transfered to a hospital in Pagadian City.
