Pagadian City – Two persons were killed in separate shooting incidents at Corner Jamisola and Duterte Street, Sta. Lucia District and inside the Sokran Hotel along Ariosa Street, Santiago District on September 10, 2007. The victim shot inside Sokran Hotel was identified as a certain Dodong, of legal age and a resident of Barangay Kawit, Pagadian City.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds by a lone gunman while he was going down the stairs inside the said Hotel at about 1:30 dawn. The suspect fled onboard a single motorcycle without plate number. It is believed that a caliber .45 pistol was used by the gunman based on four empty shells recovered by the police authorities from the crime scene. The other victim was identified as Ronie Aka Sumail, 22 years old, married, farmer and a businessman and a resident of Barangay Sang-an, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. {sidebar id=9} The police report said that the victim was attending a wedding ceremony at the Spicy Food House and at about 10:30 in the morning. He went outside the establishment and while he was outside of the gate along the junction of Jamisola and Duterte Streets, one of two unidentified male persons who was wearing bonnet with red t-shirt and maong pants alighted from a red Aura single motorcycle and without provocation shot the victim on the back twice. The suspect after the incident fled towards Rizal Avenue direction boarding a waiting motorcycle as their getaway vehicle. {sidebar id=8} The victim was rushed immediately to the Pagadian City Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
