Participants from Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Srilanka numbering 39 arrived today for the opening ceremony scheduled at 4:00 PM  in the 13th Asia-Pacific Youth Conference.

Transported in a tourist bus owned by the city government, the participants were greeted by a band and a motorcade from Labangan junction to the City Hall.

Observers said that the delegates were also met by flag waving students of Tawagan Sur Elementary School and Tawagan Sur National High School down the highway up to the Tiguma junction.

Ms. Star Arao Parulan who was the coordinator for the Host City and the 13th APYC said that the Pagadian experience will be very interesting.

“This experience will last for we in Pagadian have conquered all hassles and pressures just to make this thing possible. Finally it is here and today we experience it and it was very lively.” She said

The delegates were welcomed in the city with street dancers from the Sta Lucia High School Annex, Candidates of the Miss Pagadian City 2007, City Tourism Officials, and Pagadianons. Full security was provided both from the PNP and the 1ID, Philippine Army.

After the opening, a press conference will follow.
