AT LEAST 2 carnappers were arrested by the elements of the PNP Tigbao after positively identified by the victims last Thursday (June 5) at the Tigbao Police station for carnapping and frustrated murder.

PNP Tigbao identified the two suspects as Ronaldo Caling, 24, and a resident of Tigbao town and Badrodin Dimalunda, 29, a resident of Malabang, Lanao del Sur. Both were pointed to by the victims as the ones who carnapped their motorcycles on two different occasions last April.

Police records show that Bernabe Duyanan, 22, a motorcycle driver plying between Dumalinao and Tigbao towns was accordingly contracted by the two suspects to bring them to Lacupayan in Tigbao town last April 5 at about 6:00 p.m. but upon reaching Barangay Woodland of the said town, he was suddenly stabbed by one of the suspects on the right chest with the use of an ice pick.

After the incident, the two suspects left him on the area and rode off with his motorcycle, Duyanan said.

On the other hand, last April 30 at about 3:00 p.m. along Tigbao Elementary School, the two suspects again contracted another motorcycle driver, Edmar Absin who was driving a black Honda Wave 100cc. Along the way near Sitio Litan, the two suspects declared a hold-up and attempted to carnap his motorcycle.

But when Absin found a chance to escape, he sped-off away from the suspects and reported to the Tigbao Police station the incident. After the report, PNP Tigbao headed by police chief inspector Fernando Limen conducted a thorough investigation which led to the arrest of Caling and Dimalunda.

The two suspects are now detained at the PNP Tigbao lock up cell and facing charges of carnapping and frustrated murder before the Court.
