With the new administration of Mayor Greg Dayondon and Vice Mayor Nestor Catugal, both Kampi neophytes,  the town of Tabina experienced what the people really wanted Mayor Greg Dayondon.

Celebrating its 46th Founding Anniversary is history for them when they experienced more what they had expected from the newly administered public officials politically or socially.

“It is what the people wanted that we bring to them, and this is history” Hon. Greg Dayondon said.

Last August 12-16, the townsfolk hoped for a better and enjoyable celebration.  They got what they wanted from the new administration who delivered amidst financial problems.

The new administration launched the famous Tambunan Beach which was also declared a fish sanctuary. It now becomes a tourist destination where it will become a diving sanctuary for marine life lovers.

In his message during the 46th Celebration, Mayor Dayondon together with his Vice Mayor and the whole legislative body promised to the people of Tabina that they will do everything to make Tabina a progressive one, of course with the help and support from the Cerilles couple, 2nd District Congressman Tony Cerilles and Governor of the province Auring Cerilles.

Not only tourism industry that will be prioritized but also livelihood programs, aqua-agri developments, and other livelihood and infrastructure projects will be established for the realization of Tabina as a new boom town of Zamboanga del Sur.

To promote further its tourism industry, the 46th Founding Anniversary celebration crowned the 2007 Miss Tabina Tourism to bolster its campaign on environmental protection and preservation of their tourism destination, the Tambunan Diving Sanctuary and Beach Resort.

Other activities such as Boxing at the Park that promotes sports, Drum Corps competition for the schools for a healthy competition of schools from elementary and high school categories, food and products exhibits, and other socio-civic activities was experienced for the first time.

“Tabina Palambuon, Kinaiyahan Amumahon” it resounds the steadfast pursuit for greater progress and the preservation of the environment- the sanctuary of life that governs human existence.
