IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Some 425 families here were the beneficiaries of the “Pamaskong Handog ng Pangulo” project identified by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWDO) in yesterday’s initial launching at the Mini-Gym, Capitol Site, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Provincial Social Welfare Officer Cherlita Garate said that a total of 6, 800 families from the 16 municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay received gift packages consisting of rice, noodles, sugar, other grocery items and used clothing which were distributed to the indigent families during the official launching held yesterday. Training for Work Scholarship ProgramOn the other hand, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Office IX bared its Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) thru self-employment under the acronym GMA. Galing Mekaniko Ako“Galing Mekaniko Ako” program, which offers skills training on motorcycle repair and maintenance, distributed tool kits called “Kikoy Belt Bags” to 25 identified members of the Tricycle Proprietor and Drivers Association (TRIPAD) of Ipil. Program beneficiaries will undergo 100 hrs. skills training to equip them along this line of work. Galing Masahista Ako “Galing Masahista Ako” also distributed 25 “Kikay Belt Bags” to identified beneficiaries, who will undergo 80-hours skills training focusing on holistic therapeutic massage among others.
The Kikoy and Kikay belt bags, 35 PGMA-TWSP scholarship coupons of Household Service Workers and certificate of loan of Tindahan Natin Operators (TNOs) were also handed over during the program launching.
