Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur – The Committee on Rules, Good Government and Peace and Order of the Sangguniang Bayan here chaired by SB Manuel Alverez now on its second investigation on the alleged overpricing of computer and grass cutter issued to Barangay Pag-asa, after the Barangay Council filed their complaint against the Barangay Chairman.
The Barangay Council lead by three 3 Barangay Kagawads namely, Efren Adorable, Edwin Botac and Rubin Botac in their complaint to the Sangguniang Bayan said that they were surprised that there was a computer and grass cutter in their Barangay Hall accordingly purchased by the Barangay Chairman.Upon verification by them it was learned that the purchase of one set computer with printer and grass cutter was supported by a fabricated Barangay Resolution No. 02-2008. The supplier was identified as Computer Soft Trade of Rizal Avenue, Pagadian City. Based in the issued receipt No. 0502 dated February 14, 2008 stating that One set computer with all accessories amounted to P65,208.00, while the grass cutter amounted to P8,812.00 with a total amount of P74,100.00. But records show in the property acknowledgement receipt signed by the barangay treasurer Arce Infantado the computer amounted to P61,000.00 and the grass cutter is P7,000.00. “This is our second hearing of the complaint and initially the barangay officials blame to the municipal accountant who was allegedly responsible of all the transactions regarding the purchased of the said items,” SB Kagawad Manuel Alvberez told this repeorter. Barangay Kagawad Edwin Botac said that he verified personally the supplier (Computer Softrade) and found out that they are only selling computers and not grass cutter. It was found out that the price of a computer is only from P13,000.00 to P25,000.00. Dumalinao Mayor Ace Cerilles in a RMN-DXPR Radio Program interview said that he instructed already the Sangguniang Bayan to conduct an investigation and assured the public that no white-washing will happen. In the next and final hearing the municipal accountant Elma Fe Ema was invited to attend the investigation.
