In the second day after the discussion of the salient features of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 by PAO Lawyer, Gino Jovito C. Aranas and R.A. 9372 the controversial Human Security Act of the Anti-Terror Law by Honorable Judge Ernesto MVE. Laurel of RTC Branch 30 of Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur, a dialogue between the five pillars of the criminal justice system with the theme: Law Enforcement and Order towards Peace and Progress was conducted.

In his opening statement, Honorable Judge Rolando Goan of RTC Branch 21 who represents the judiciary stressed that, filing of cases is the sole responsibility of the law enforcers in which with their evidences and information must be legal enough and be coordinated with the prosecution in order the judiciary as it found prima facie evidence, those who committed crimes will have their day in court.

“We are bound by the rules of court” Judge Goan further stressed.

The provincial government under Governor Aurora Enerio Cerilles also gives her reaction towards the symposium,

The governor also said that it is very timely that the IBP Pagadian-Zamboanga del Sur has initiated this activity for the pillars of criminal justice system in the province will full understand their individual roles to promote justice for all.

Other reactors from the five pillars of criminal justice system and other government institutions, the Media, and the community give there reactions on the criminal justice system. As they observe that with the understanding and accepting of their duties and responsibilities these pillars will be promoter of Justice and Order.

In his message, Congressman Antonio H.  Cerilles, of the 2nd District of the province sighted the importance of being one in implementing justice system in the province and the whole nation as well. “We are like riding in a boat, commanding it to become a safe ride for our passengers into another world of peace and development.”

Hon. Cerilles who is also a member of the IBP being a lawyer commented that in his personal interpretation of the Human Security Act against terrorism is crazy, inutile law, it only creates fear.

And on the pillars of justice system he said that” let us not blame one another and lets work together, what we are working now is not for us but for our next generations.”

As the 2-Day symposium closes, Atty. Bongalos thanked the Department of the Interior and Local Governance(DILG) under Provincial Director Abcede Asjali in the support and effort of his department in the success of the symposium, Atty Bongalos also thank and acknowledge the support given to {sidebar id=9}him by the members of the IBP chapter, the support of the Army’s First Division under MGEN Nehemias Pajarito, PPNP Provincial Director P/Senior Superintendent Ramon Ochotorena, the Provincial Government, City Mayor Samuel S. Co and the City Council of Pagadian, the Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Press Club and  all other who in one way or another made the said symposium a big success.

“Being first in the city and the province, I hope that with the understanding of each member of the pillars of our criminal justice system, the IBP activity is an eye-opener” he said.
