PAGADIAN CITY – After receiving a text message from a confidential informant, the Provincial Special Operations Group under Police Inspector Rommel Etbew seized bundles of swertres tips from a passenger van at the Cerilles Terminal along Aquino Street, this city last April 5 at around 8:20 a.m.

Police record shows that the PSOG was informed that an unidentified person would be transporting illegal gambling paraphernalia from the Cerilles Terminal to Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur.

The group immediately proceeded to the area and searched all the passenger vehicles at the terminal and found the paraphernalia boarded on the passenger van driven by a certain Jerry Sarmiento with plate number YBS-957.

The police recovered swertres tips named “Bolantoy” and “Toklay” and a number of blank tally sheets.

It may be recalled that the PNP and the local government of Pagadian were urged by the Interfaith Forum for Solidarity and Peace to stop the rampant illegal gambling activities in the City of Pagadian particularly the swertres and the video karera.
