In her statement, City Comelec Supervisor, Atty. Dinah Cagampang-Sapong said that after the week's final counting and receiving the Election Results (ER's) from the 54 Barangays of the city, the newly elected barangay officials will take over on the 2nd day of December pursuant to the DILG Memorandum of which the last day of the term of former officials will take place on November 30, 2007.

"The newly elected Barangay Officials will take their oath as the newly elected official of their Barangays" pursuant to the DILG Memorandum, because former barangay officials incumbent or not, their term of office will terminate on November 30, 2007." she said.

Both the Co and Cerilles camp who supported their candidates were happy to hear that their supported candidates in the Barangay level won.

It may be recalled that the Cerilleses who were NPC-KAMPI stalwarts in Zamboanga del Sur during the May 2007 Local Elections swept out the Lakas candidates under Congressman Isidoro E. Real Jr., who lost to new 1st District Congressman Victor L. Yu, of NPC-KAMPI.

Meanwhile, vote buying was still the cry of those who lost in the recent election.
