Pagadian City Police Chief Renaldo M. Maclang
Pagadian City – A Philippine National Police Academy Graduate (PNPA), Class '98, Chief Senior Inspector Renaldo M. Maclang was formally installed on February 18, 2008 by Police Provincial Director PSupt. Ramon M. Ochotorena.

OIC COP Inspector Rommel Etbew was replaced by PCSInsp Maclang because of a standing PNP policy that his rank as Inspector is not fit for the position as City COP in big cities like Pagadian. Etbew was reassigned the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, (ZSPPO), Camp Abelon here.

Maclang made a courtesy call to Mayor Sammy Co in the evening of the same day after he was installed. Maclang was assigned in Manila and Makati Ayala Commercial area as Precinct commander and later on became COP in Dipolog City.

He was also a Senior Aid to the Regional Director in the Police Regional Office, Zamboanga City, before his assignment in Pagadian City as COP.

“From now on as your new Chief of Police, I will impose no smoking and no gambling policy within the Pagadian City Police Office and I will not tolerate any members of Pagadian City Police Station violating this policy otherwise if you will be caught violating my orders I will recommend your transfer to another police station or I will be the one to transfer, COP Maclang told his policemen after the turn-over.

In a press conference attended by Police Provincial Director Ramon M. Ochotorena, Pagadian City Mayor Sammy Co presented to the media the new chief. “I welcome Maclang as our new Chief of Police and I will support him 100% whatever are his plans and projects implemented in maintaining our peace and order. We have already designed some strategies and we are not closing our eyes on illegal gambling like the illegal numbers games and the Video Karera,” Mayor Co told the reporters.

“I will continue the programs and projects implemented by my predecessors as agreed with our very supportive City Mayor. As your new COP I am requesting the public to give trust to your Police and please cooperate and support us in doing our task by giving us vital information that can help in solving crimes, especially to the media, you are our partners in performing our mission because we can not do these alone, we are not Superman,” Maclang also said.

PD Ochotorena requested to the media to give ample time to the new COP to prove his best in performing his job or a honeymoon period before rating his performance in doing his duties and responsibilities. "Rest assured that we in the Provincial Police Office will give our all out support of course together with our City Mayor", PD Ochotorena said.

Soon we will have a first class police station which is under construction now amounting to P12.2 Million pesos that will give high morale to our Police force in the city, Mayor Co added.
