PNP Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Ramon Ochotorena
Police Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Ramon Ochotorena told www.unsapa.com - News and More that after the Basilan crisis they already anticipated the situation that diversionary tactics will happen. "To avoid any terrorist act, we have alerted our police force together with the cooperation of the Philippine Army to tighten up their security and monitor closely all the public places specially in the bus terminal area, public market, government institutions, schools, and other public places frequent by people."

Pagadian City COP Chief Inspector Oscar Tan Buenaobra conducted a meeting with the bus operators and management to devise security measures like having fstrict conduct of inspection before the boarding of all passengers together with their baggage, PD Ochotorena said.

“Since our province have a long shoreline, we can not deny the possibility that the enemy will pass through our area but they will not stay long except if they have contacts where they can hide. But in order to prevent the possibilities of landing of outsiders or any suspected members of Abusayap we are also closely monitoring our coastal areas,” Ochotorena added.

“However, generally our peace and order in our province is peaceful, but the possibilities of any terroristic attacked will not happen because the civilian are very supportive in our campaigned by reporting immediately to the authorities if they can notice any suspicious or unusual from their area, and rest assure that we will maximized our personnel for the safety in our area,” Ochotorena disclosed.
