As judgment comes, (NPC) Nationalist Peoples Coalition-KAMPI (Kabalikat ng Mamayang Pilipino had drowned the mighty Lakas-CMD and the Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino(PMP) of Zamboanga del Sur after it garnered the majority votes after 45 days of campaigning.

This week (May 18, 2007), Provincial COMELEC Registrar Atty. Ignacio Baya together with his Provincial Board of Canvassers proclaimed the leadership both in the First and Second Congressional District and the Provincial Government officials who will govern beginning July 1, 2007 up to June 30, 2010.

Even with the alleged massive vote buying, harassment, and intimidation, the 2007 May 14 Poll comes peaceful and orderly, but observers say, it is not a clean and honest election. Zamboanga del Sur will be led again by the re-electionist and some new comers in the political arena which is now ruled by one party, the NPC-KAMPI of Zamboanga del Sur.

Unofficial results from the Office of the Governor Quick Count, Governor Aurora Enerio Cerilles garnered 255,853 votes both from the 1st and 2nd District of Zamboanga del Sur comprising of 518,444 Registered voters from 2,578 precincts against her opponent, Puwersa ng Masa Pilipino governatorial candidate Atty. Tersindo Poloyapoy who only got 45, 218 votes.
